The well-known verse in Ecclesiastes 4, "a cord of three strands is not quickly broken," perfectly represents our Chosen Vessel community. Women often find themselves pulled in many directions, regardless of their life stage. The newlywed woman, initially excited about the future, soon faces the daily grind of dirty socks, constant TV or video games, and the routine of cooking. The working woman may be mentally fulfilled but constantly battles the thought that she should be at home with her children. The divorcee or widow feels overwhelmed and wrongly believes they are failing because they can't do it all. The stay-at-home mom finds fulfillment in giving her children 100%, but this often leaves nothing for her husband or herself. The empty-nest or retired woman wonders about her purpose, and the elderly woman questions the point of it all.

Our Chosen Vessel community is the strand that weaves itself around you. We encourage, promote, laugh, cry, strategize, scheme, and rest with one another. And the third strand? Well, that is Jesus, wrapping Himself around us all. The temptation for many of us is to go at it alone. We tend to place all of life’s decisions on our shoulders – though we often deny this. When asked, we say, “Yes, I am in prayer” or “Yes, I have laid it on the throne,” only to pick it up again.

Green Ivy on Stone Wall

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you abide in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

To Abide in Christ is to be truly grafted into the vine. This is how we truly bear fruit and finally walk in our purpose.

I find many women are barely hanging on to the vine. If disconnected from the vine, death is certain. If loosely connected to the vine, no good fruit is produced, and death is imminent.

To graft a branch into a vine takes great skill and nourishment.  Jesus is the gardener, but he has asked his disciples to be the caretakers.  In business, the CEO, director, or manager’s chair is a very lonely place.  We are faced with decisions that affect everyone’s livelihood and quality of life. In our personal lives, the decisions are equally as daunting and impactful.  We impact the lives of children, spouses, family members...

Chosen Vessel Ministry for Women has pledged to be a caretaker of women no matter age, demographic, or status.

We have pledged to help them be nourished and encouraged in the Lord, to teach or reteach business principles that will produce fruit. And lastly, gently prune areas that could be detrimental.

Julie Hirschauer, the founder of Chosen Vessel Ministry, has dedicated the last 30 years to coaching and mentoring, with the focus of ABIDING in Him. The results have brought Glory to Him, our Heavenly Father, and hopefully identified her with the vine as His disciple, doing what SHE was chosen to do.
